Overview

KEY PURPOSE
Reporting to the CEO of AiHC, the Director of Growth will be responsible for driving the accelerated growth of the business through the active pursuit and execution of new business opportunities, ranging from pitching new client opportunities, identifying new offerings and building go-to-market strategies, and supporting the effective marketing of the business.

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILTY

  • Define and develop the Strategic Growth Plan for AiHC - Development and implementation of a comprehensive growth strategy for Adelphi in Healthcare Communications (AiHC) that aligns with our overall business objectives.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities - The active pursuit and execution of new business opportunities, including identifying pitching to new client and launching go-to-market strategies for new offerings
  • Managing and motivating the Growth team and leading the growth activities with all staff involved in business development- Lead the business development team, including hiring, training and mentoring staff to ensure they are equipped to meet the business goals. Collaboration with groups including the MD’s, PD’s, Finance, Engagement and Innovation to drive growth initiatives.
  • Market Analysis and Insights Monitor and identify industry trends and emerging client needs - Develop and understand the client’s market, product profile, pipeline, competitors and trends. This includes providing actionable insights that inform the business and identify opportunities to evolve our existing offerings and identify new revenue streams.
  • Developing and managing the budget for growth initiatives including marketing activation and sales activities- Building AiHC brand presence in the market, which includes overseeing marketing campaigns, thought leadership initiatives and participation in industry events (ie. ISMPP)
  • Providing regular reports and updates on growth performance to the CEO and other members of the executive team
  • Identifying and implementing technology and other tools to support growth activities
  • Serving as a key member of the Executive team and contributing to the overall direction and strategy of AiHC

Required Competences

  • Medical Communication Industry Experience: A strong understanding of the Medical Communications and pharmaceutical industry, business development and effective and innovative growth strategies.
  • Strong Leadership Skills: Track record in managing a high performing team and ability to work effectively in a matrix organization, essential to being able to achieve the objectives for growth
  • Strategic Thinking and Business Acumen: Experience in developing and executing strategies to drive business growth for agencies, including new products or services, market expansion and partnerships
  • Analytical and Financial Acumen: Understanding of budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to assess the profitability of growth initiatives
  • Business Development: Skills in analyzing market trends, competitive landscape and identifying new business opportunities. Experience in developing and maintaining client relationships, negotiating contracts and forming strategic partnerships. Ability to comprehend the needs and challenges of our clients.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of industry regulations, standards, and compliance requirements in medical communications.

Reporting Line

  • The Director of growth is part of the AiHC executive team and reports to the CEO of Adelphi in Healthcare Communications

Education & Training

  • Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Business Administration (MBA), or a Master of Science (MS) in a related discipline.

Experience & Background

  • 10+ years work experience in Business Development pharmaceutical industry or medical communication agency.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and processes (e.g., FDA, EMA, ICH guidelines) to ensure compliance in communications and materials.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams.
  • Significant experience and track record in Leading and guiding the pitch process within the medical communications industry
  • Experience in strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Strong experience driving strategic initiatives.
  • Experienced in consultative sales, helping navigate complex medical and regulatory landscape
